There be Dragons
Hello, fellow Warlords!
With Diabolus Ryden challenging players worldwide and reports of his demise starting to spread, it is now time to start talking about the next tier of the Warlord Challenge System - Dragon Lords!
For those that need a quick primer, there are three tiers to the Warlord challenge system:
Overlords (the local level)
Dragon Lords (the region level)
Medusan Lords (larger events)

Dragon Lords are an even stronger and more powerful foe than Overlords. Unlike Overlords, where you must first play through an event before your chance to face the them, Dragon Lords are run by designated Dragon Lord runners who work with stores and events in their region to take challenges. Prospective challengers will sign up with the Dragon Lord runner on the day of the event and get on the list to take a challenge with their constructed deck of choice. This deck can be separate from the one they use in an event, and specifically designed to try and take down a DL.
In order to challenge, players must have an unpunched Overlord with a target symbol to redeem for their challenge. At the discretion of the Challenge Runner, they may also accept Overlords from prior eras of the game that have not been previously signed or punched for a challenge. If they do, these older cards would also be hole punched to signify they have been redeemed for a challenge, and this would be announced by the runner prior to the event. Overlords published by Kingswood Games that do not have a target symbol may not be used in challenges — recall that all of these non-Medusan Challenge Lords will be printed in a Saga legal set as a normal card. Challenge runners may also choose to take challenges via some sort of charity event, such as a food drive.
We are excited to announce that our first ever Dragon Lord will be holding release events in various regions globally during the two-weekend launch week of July 18th - July 26th. Announcements for the various events will start popping up from the venues and challenge runners with Kingswood signal boosting where it can, so be on the lookout for an event in your area!
Dragon Lord challenges will also be available throughout the weekend during the upcoming Gen Con 2026 (7/30-8/2) at the Kingswood Games HQ, so bring those freshly slain Diaboluses!

In addition to the printed text Dreq will have a rules sheet with any additional rules needed for the challenge (That he counts as a Warlord for the challenge, begins the game with a Dragon in his third rank, etc.)
